micromagic

micromagic systems has been working on hexapod walking robots since 2000. This started with the idea of producing a kit form hexapod robot with 3DOF for each leg. Although this kit was soon realised and ready for the general public, it was never released... but thats about to change, as we have just released our first hexpod kit the MSR-H01. This kits design was heavily influenced by Matt Denton's popular V4b design that went on to become iC Hexapod. For more information and pricing, please visit our new site dedicated to robotics:

Hexapods in Film :- The same technology used in the V3 hexapod walking robot was utilised in a larger design built for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". This hexapod was dressed to look like a six legged tortoise and was one of the creatures in Hagrid's hut. Although it only ended up in about five frames of the final film! However, it was used again in "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire" have a close look in the back of Mad Eye Moody's class room...
