built in servo horn?

I have noticed that you do not use servo horns in your later projects. How are you creating the servo tooth pattern in your aluminum hexapods?

Hi Alex... anything is possible, given enough time and money!! accept maybe time travel... ;)

When I was working on the Harry Potter movies we had special servo spline punches custom made to match Futaba, Hitech and other splines. The splines are then pressed into a tight fit hole in the aluminium parts.

Re: built in servo horn?

Thanks for pointing me to it. Any idea where I could get a punch made like this?

Hi HakBot,

You would need to get a spline punch made by a specialised tool manufacturer. Although its a neat trick and asthetically very pleasing, its not that practical. For that reason I would not produce kits with punched servo splines.
